Do I need to own a specific printer to contribute?

Not at all. Tips are printer-agnostic unless they're specifically about a particular model. If your tip applies to a specific printer, just mention it in the title or steps.

Can I submit tips about filament brands or specific products?

Yes, but keep it factual and experience-based. Tips like 'Hatchbox PLA prints well at 200°C on my Ender 3' are fine. Promotional content or affiliate links are not allowed.

What if my tip is similar to one that already exists?

If it covers the same ground, it may be rejected as a duplicate. But if you have a meaningfully different approach, a different printer context, or additional detail, it can stand on its own. Check the Tips Library before submitting.

Can I edit my tip after it's been approved?

Not directly yet — but you can flag it for review with updated information using the report button, and a moderator can update it. We're working on self-serve editing for contributors.

Is there a limit to how many tips I can submit?

No hard limit. Quality over quantity is encouraged — a few excellent, well-researched tips will earn more community respect than many thin submissions.

What makes a tip get featured?

Featured tips are hand-picked by moderators. They tend to solve a common, frustrating problem with unusually clear and specific instructions. High helpful-vote counts help get a tip noticed, but the final call is editorial.
